Level 2 - Senior Production Chef

Senior production chefs may lead a brigade team or may support the head chef in larger establishments. They report activities to the Head chef or appropriate line manager. They supervise production chef teams in a variety of kitchen environments, for example; schools, hospitals, the Armed Forces, care homes and high street casual dining or pub kitchens.

Duration: 12 months

For those undertaking an apprenticeship route, the additional components will be delivered alongside the core qualification.

  • Attempt Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths

Level 2 - Hospitality Team Member

A hospitality team member can work in a range of establishments, for example bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. The role is very varied and although hospitality team members tend to specialise in an area, they have to be adaptable and ready to support team members across the business, for example during busy periods.

Duration: 12 Months

Level 2 - Commis Chef

Commis chefs may work in different types of organisations and employers such as restaurants, hotels, care homes/hospitals, military establishments and cruise ships. The broad purpose of the occupation is to support the kitchen in providing the culinary offer by preparing, cooking and finishing a range of food items whilst rotating around each section of the kitchen.

Duration: 12 months

Level 3 - Chef De Partie

This occupation is found in the Hospitality industry across a range of sectors including hospitality, aviation and care. Chef de parties may work in different types of organisations and employers such as restaurants, hotels, care homes or hospitals, military establishments and cruise ships. The broad purpose of the occupation is to prepare, cook and finish complex dishes while overseeing a section of the kitchen, which could be the pastry, larder, butchery, fish, sauce or vegetable section of the kitchen.

Duration : 18 months
