Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

This programme is designed for apprentices who want to develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours for a job as an Early Years Practitioner. The apprenticeship includes the Early Years Practitioner qualification at Level 2.

Activities Covered

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will work as part of a professional team, ensuring the welfare and care for children. You will collaborate with parents, colleagues, and multi-agency professionals to support child development and learning.

  • Collaborate with parents, children, colleagues, and multi-agency professionals.
  • Work with partners such as health workers, social workers, and language managers.
  • Support child inclusion and adult-led activities based on the needs and interests of each child.
  • Support children's learning through planned, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes.
  • Ensure each child feels safe and secure while working as part of a team.
  • Assist with the observation and assessment of each child and contribute to their learning experience.
  • Recognise when a child is in danger or at risk and contribute to their safety and well-being.

Learning Hours

The apprenticeship involves remote learning and on-the-job training. Apprentices must complete a minimum of six hours of off-the-job learning within their working hours.
