It ensures that students are fully informed of the policies and procedures that protect their educational journey, even in the face of unforeseen challenges. By addressing a range of scenarios, from program discontinuation to institutional changes, the SPP demonstrates LAAT’s dedication to prioritizing student welfare and upholding its obligations as a trusted academic provider.

LAAT Student Protection Plan 2025–2026

This Student Protection Plan (SPP) has been developed to ensure the quality and continuity of study for students enrolled through LAAT in partnership with Plymouth Marjon University (PMU). LAAT has identified the following risks and their likelihood to safeguard its students effectively:

The risk that LAAT, as a delivery partner, is unable to continue operations is very low. LAAT has sound financial resources and comprehensive funding strategies to mitigate potential risks. A robust five-year strategic plan is in place, regularly reviewed by senior management, ensuring that LAAT remains resilient to external economic challenges.

The risk that PMU is unable to award qualifications due to regulatory issues is low. PMU maintains high standards aligned with the UK Quality Code and other regulatory frameworks. Regular reviews by internal governance assure compliance and sustainability.

The risk of closing or relocating delivery locations managed by LAAT is low. Should relocation be necessary, LAAT is committed to:

  1. Teaching out students at the original location.
  2. Teaching out students at the original location.
  3. Teaching out students at the original location.

The risk of closing or relocating delivery locations managed by LAAT is low. Should relocation be necessary, LAAT is committed to:

  1. Teaching out existing cohorts.
  2. Offering equivalent programs to affected students.
  3. Assisting with transfers to other institutions where appropriate.

The risk of single-person dependency affecting program delivery is low. LAAT employs a robust staffing strategy, including recruitment of qualified personnel and reliance on a pool of visiting lecturers. Succession planning ensures continuity in academic delivery.
