Your Learner Journey at LAAT
We support every learner from their first application through to progression and
certification. Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is embedded at every stage
to help you make informed decisions and achieve your goals.
Step 1: Your Application
- Apply online or through our admissions team.
- Receive impartial advice about programme suitability and funding options.
Step 2: Skills Scan & Initial Assessment (with IAG)
- Complete a skills scan and initial assessments in English, Maths, and digital skills.
- IAG support is provided here to check that your chosen programme matches your career aspirations and
personal goals.
- Our advisors discuss your options, explain progression routes, and make sure you are on the right
course.
Step 3: Induction
- Meet your tutor and employer (for apprenticeships).
- Learn about safeguarding, wellbeing support, and learner rights.
- Receive your learner handbook and induction pack.
Step 4: Skills & Development Coach
- Work with your dedicated coach/tutor for personalised guidance.
- Regular reviews include IAG discussions to keep you on track.
Step 5: On Programme
- Access workshops on employability, CV writing, job applications, and interview skills.
- Tutors and wellbeing staff provide one-to-one support as needed.
- Progress Reviews
Step 6: Assessment Gateway
- Review your progress and readiness for assessment.
- Receive guidance on next steps (progression or employment preparation).
Step 7: End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Final assessment of your skills and knowledge.
- Tutors provide last-stage IAG to help you prepare for completion.
Step 8: Certification & Next Steps
- Achieve your qualification.
- Receive tailored IAG on progression to higher study, apprenticeships, or employment.
- We follow up six months later to support your long-term goals.
